Sympathy flowers, without a wait.
We hold capacity for sympathy work across the Front Range, so our usual lead times do not apply. If the service is in a few days, call and we will tell you honestly what we can do.
Most of this cannot be got wrong
Most people ordering sympathy flowers are doing it for the first time, under time pressure, worrying about getting it wrong. Here is what usually happens.
- The service is in two days.
- Call (303) 555-0142. Our published lead times, 10 days for stems and 14 for designed work, do not apply to sympathy work, and we hold capacity so they do not have to. We will tell you honestly what we can do, including when the answer is no.
- I do not know what to send.
- A standing spray to the service, or an arrangement to the family home. Both are always appropriate and neither is a wrong choice. Pieces at a service are seen from across a room rather than from two feet away, so we build them with larger blooms and clearer contrast than you would want up close.
- Where should it go, and when?
- To the funeral home or church, usually the morning of the service or the evening before. To the family home at any point, including the week after, which is often when it lands better. Confirm with the funeral home. Most have a preference and will say so if asked.
- The notice asked for donations instead.
- Honour that. It is a specific request rather than a formality. A card saying you have donated in the person's name is the right response, and no flowers are needed.
- Will it still look right on the third day?
- Services often run several days. We build with flowers that hold: carnations, spider mums and leather leaf run ten to twenty-one days and look the same at the end of a viewing as they did at the start.
What we make
If a single small arrangement is all you need, a local retail florist will serve you better than we will. We would rather say that than take the order.
- Standing sprays
- For the service. Built to read from across a room and to hold their shape through several days of viewing without anyone tending them.
- Table and altar arrangements
- For the service, the reception, or the family home. Sized to the surface they will sit on.
- Casket and urn florals
- Traditionally arranged by immediate family. We will talk you through what is usual if this is unfamiliar.
- Arrangements sent to the home
- Often the more useful gesture in the week after a service, when support falls away and the house goes quiet.
- Standing orders
- For funeral homes, churches and hospices. An agreed palette and quantity on a recurring schedule, invoiced monthly rather than quoted each time.
One thing worth knowing
Ask for Asiatic lilies indoors
Oriental lilies are heavily scented, and in a small closed room over a long viewing that can genuinely overwhelm. Asiatic lilies give the same scale and the same shape without the fragrance. We default to those indoors unless you tell us otherwise.
